Every period

Draft a schedule

Let ScheduleSolve fill the period, then read the summary and the gaps.

A draft fills every shift it can for one schedule period, from your people, their areas and days, the needs of each area and your rules.

Make a draft

  1. On Home, press Draft my first schedule. Or open Schedule and press Draft this schedule.
  2. Wait a few seconds. You can keep working while it runs.
  3. Read the summary at the top of the schedule.

Read the summary

The summary starts with one sentence: is the schedule fully staffed, almost staffed, or short? If it is short, it says why. For example: not enough people know an area, people are away, or a Must rule blocks it. Under it are one to three actions, such as Add people, Lower the needs or Change this rule.

The weekday table shows where open shifts fall in a typical week. Red means below the minimum; amber means below the ideal number. Point to a square, or tap it, to see the dates and the reason.

Change and draft again

After you change people, needs or rules, open the … menu and press Draft again. Shifts you set by hand stay. Undo the draft in the same menu takes the schedule back to how it was before the draft.

Keep the next schedule drafted

In Settings, then Schedule, turn on Keep the next schedule drafted. ScheduleSolve then drafts each coming period for you. It never moves people in a posted schedule; it only suggests changes on Home.

Needs a look

Some cells show Needs a look. Open the cell to see why, for example a Try to rule that could not hold. You decide whether to keep it.
